It’s official.
Apple has announced the release of the Intel-based MacBook Pro.
Check out Yuga’s post at PTB.
The MacBook, four times the speed of existing PowerBook G4’s, has the following specs:
The new laptop comes with an Intel Core Duo ranging from 1.67GHz to 1.83GHz (667GHz FSB), 15.4″ screen, 120GB HDD, up to 1GB main memory, ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with up to 256MB RAM, slot-load SuperDrive (DVD±RW/CD-RW), built-in AirPort Extreme (802.11g), IR-based iRemote, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, and Gigabit Ethernet. It also sports 2 USB 2.0 port, an iSight camera and another Firewire 400 port.
My only gripe is that the name’s not as cool-sounding as “PowerBook” or “iBook.”
With an “Intel Core” chip running the MacBook, they should’ve called it Apple Core instead!
