1Hey J Angelo. I own the same Mac Mini first gen as yours. Lately, I’ve been thinking of upgrading to iMac since my work load is catching up on this small machine. How’s the 1 Gig upgrade? I am thinking, instead of investing, is investing in additional memory for this Mini worth it?

2Hey Arnold. Didn’t I see you selling your Mac Mini on TPC?
The upgrade is well worth it. As with any other computer or processor type, I would say added RAM is always a performance booster.
Yours is running on 256MB, right?
It’s not as expensive, too, at PhP 2,400 (approx, depending on brand). And the opening of the unit itself is DIY (takes two to five minutes).
Just be sure you buy the Pc3200 (400MHz) RAM type. Slower ones won’t work.

3Man, I was selling it at TPC and PhilMug(s), nobody wants to get it for P25k!
I am thinking, if I’ll get a new iMac, I’ll try to sell again at P20k. Well, anyway…
This ‘kid’ has 512mb memory. I remember, when I upgraded to Leopard, it somehow slowed down, slower than it is already.
Here’s a problem with Macheads. It’s normally cheaper to upgrade to a clone PC. But my mind is rejecting XP just thinking about it.
So the other cheaper (well, not really cheap) upgrade is an iMac. Still thinking if it’s worth it, though. I’ll consider the 1 gig upgrade.

4My mistake—yours is running on 512mb. I’d say the improvement won’t be as dramatic as from 256MB to 1GB, but there would most likely still be noticeable improvements.

6Alrighty. Sounds fair enough.
I got the 19” Samsung LCD for P8,800, btw, at SM appliance center. I scoured Cyberzone, but the cheapest 19” model I could find was PhP 9.5k. At Trinoma, they even sell 15” models for PhP 9.9k. That’s highway robbery!

8The Mac? Let’s just say it’s a few thousand bucks cheaper than an Asus Eee.
