Checking the referral stats for the J Spotter
(my blog on “personal insights”), I was surprised to see a lot of hits
coming from queries on “Rene Jarque.” I stopped wondering when I
got an email from Billy Esposo via the COPA-NET egroup that former
Captain Jarque has passed away.
I guess the reason Google (and perhaps other search engines, too) pegs
my blogspot site as #1 on queries for Capt. Jarque’s name is because I posted articles referring to his “Reforming the Armed Forces” papers published a couple of years back.
The two papers were very popular in the aftermath of the failed Oakwood mutiny,
where a handful of junior military officers claimed having been witness
to various malpractices and mismanagement in the armed forces,
including initiating several bombings in Mindanao.
I guess this is just another way to demonstrate how search engines love blogs. A quick check with the Google toolbar I installed on my Firefox browser says the J Spot (this site) has a pagerank of 7/10, while the J Spotter a 5/10. Wow.
My post on Capt. Jarque is here.
Starstruck? Let's go star tripping.
