Google Mail turns one

Google’s Gmail service turns one year old, and gives one more gigabyte of email storage to its users

That’s a total of a whopping two gigs of email storage.  I wonder

what people will do with all that space.  That’s even more space

than my i.ph blog account (twice)!  I guess there’s not much

trouble for Google’s servers, since I would reckon that only a very

small percentage of the Gmail user population actually uses more than

50% of the original 1GB allocation.  Unless you get A LOT of junk email that passes thru the filters, that is.

And oh my, is that a rich text editor I’m seeing?  Yes! The Gmail

team has been busy with all these new improvements.  Ahh the

benefits of technology.  After all, I would expect the Google

people to really perform well, given the excellent benefits they get from working with the company.  There is such a thing as free lunch for these people.

More VOIP Raves

Mosaic Communications, a local ISP, intends to offer free long distance calls via VOIP to higher-end dialup clients

We’re inching even more closer to opening VOIP for broader use.

However, I doubt about the quality of service, given the limitations of

dial-up connections.
