Check out GTalkr, a web-based Google Talk IM client and so much more.

It’s a flash-based web app that lets you chat with your Google talk contacts, check your Gmail, and even archive, star and search across your Gtalk conversations (very much like with Gmail).

Now that’s something Google should implement with Gtalk: better message management.  I’m not so fond of the bells and whistles of Yahoo! Messenger, since what I want is a robust, lightweight and fast application like Google talk.  But Gtalk, in its current incarnation, is pretty much spartan in its feature offerings.

Google should pick up a thing or to or three from the work the guys at Gtalkr have done.  Or maybe they should make an outright buy-out.
