2their current pc cards won’t work with macs but both services should. you just need an extra phone with EDGE/GPRS capability that can connect to your mac (via bluetooth or usb cable)

3Hmm. I guess I should use the Compaq for that, then. But it’s too bad we didn’t get a trial of Visibility.

4Do you still use that Mac more than the other laptop?
Any technical difficulties with the Mac laptop because of its age (and you can still install tiger on it??)

5Hmm. Actually, I just got the Mac last Wednesday. Since then, I’ve been using it more than the V2000. Perhaps because of the novelty of it, or maybe it’s because I like OS X. Yes, I already installed Tiger and updated it to 10.4.7. It actually came with 10.1.4 when I got it, so it was very limited (no WiFi drivers, etc.) Some people over LowEndMac say that the best cat for the Pismo is the Panther, but I’m not seeing any speed problems with Tiger.
Of course, I’ve upgraded it to 512MB RAM. Theoretically you can plug in two 1GB sticks to make it 2 Gigs, but that’s already expensive. Also, you can upgrade the CPU to a 550 MHz G4. The DVD drive can also be upgraded to any standard tray-loading laptop Combo drive (w/ CD burner) or even a lightscribe/dual layer DVD burner.
Some gripes: Flash/web videos tend to skip frames, but DVDs play well. Also, the unit freezes when it goes to sleep while the Cardbus WiFi card is plugged in and running. Other than that, OS X Tiger is one great cat on the Pismo.
Check out my bLaptops post for the complete story.

6Black Mac! ::envious::
I always wanted a black unit, so i don’t know how i ended up with my white laptop. But Corsarify’s still sexy, heh.
Btw, what’s the name of the Pismo? hehe.

7No more freezing when going to sleep! I plugged in a Linksys WRT54G cardbus (revision 3) and OS X detects it as an Airport Extreme card—same Broadcom chipset, after all.
@Corsarius, no name yet! Any suggestions?

8Maybe “Lisa” would be a good name, in honor of the old LISA system (the Mac’s pseudo-precursor).
Moleskine Now Available in the Philippines » The J Spot
November 2nd, 2006 at 3:14 pm
9[...] If you have a taste for the finer things in life, then you should get yourself a Moleskine notebook. It’s the Macintosh of notebooks. It’s the Rolls Royce of notebooks. It’s not only about the price or the visual appeal. It’s all about the sensual experience that you get from using these beautiful pieces of work. Hey, that’s why I use a Mac for my writing work. And when I’m off the grid, ordinary pen-and-paper just won’t do. My Moleskine notebooks helps me get the most out of my disconnected moment, whenever needed. [...]

10[...] According to my NetStat widget, my PowerBook has been online for 28 days, 6 hours and 13 minutes. And since that time, the notebook had been running without a hitch—perhaps save for some mishaps that caused Firefox to freeze up and require a restart (sometimes happens to such a memory hog like Firefox). [...]
What You Want for Christmas (And What 2006 Has Given You) » The J Spot

11[...] New toys. This year, I was able to acquire: a Compaq Presario V2000, an old PowerBook Pismo, a new refrigerator, a car, a new (cheap) mobile phone, an iPod Video, new Canon digital camera (to replace the Nikon that broke this January), and numerous other stuff. While these are all material, these are tools that make life easier. What I think matters is the added productivity and happiness that these bring about. With the computers, I can work (and play) better. With the car, the family can travel in comfort. [...]
I Missed My Desktop » The J Spot
March 13th, 2007 at 2:37 am
12[...] Ever since I started to use laptops to work with (two, namely the Powerbook Pismo for serious writing stuff, when I don’t want to get distracted, and the newer, zippier Compaq Presario for graphics work, watching videos, burning discs and the occasional writing work), the desktop had once again been turned into a glorified paperweight. The monitor had been used on occasion as second screen for either laptop. But the rest was just in a state of rest. [...]
