dragon.pngI’m on the lookout for game writers again—either writers who play MMORPGs (that’s Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games to the uninitiated) or gamers who can write well. Either way, you would have to be a good writer and you would have to have some experience with games. If you’re a really good gamer and a really good writer, then that’s even better!

All right, I’m interested. What games do you need material for?

We run a subscription-only forum-type community with areas for different MMORPGs.

Currently, we need people who can write guides, walkthroughs, strategy tips, cheats, and reviews on the following:

  • City of Heroes/Villains
  • EverQuest 2
  • Lineage 2
  • Star Wars Galaxies
  • Dungeons and Dragons Online

Good writing is a must. It’s even better if you’re passionate about gaming! You should also be able to answer questions and inquiries related to the game you’re handling. As for the articles, of course we’re looking for original work. Or, at the very least, you should be able to come up with well-researched material that can be synthesized appropriately.

The writer would be expected to come up with two to three articles per day, which will be posted on the forums.

Cool. What do I expect in return?

As for compensation, it would depend on the volume of content you can come up with, and this has to be agreed before you start to work with us. In a nutshell:

  • 60 articles per month – $300
  • 90 articles per month – $400
  • 120 articles per month – $500

Now ain’t that cool? You can play games all day and write about ‘em, and you get compensated in return. You don’t even have to leave home to do it.

And then there’s unlimited access to the forums. As our writer, you won’t have to pay for access to the site, which—again—contains cool reviews, cheats, guides and other interesting discussion on various MMOs.

You can refer to my previous post about my hunt for game writers for other information.

I’m so excited my palms are all sweaty. How do I apply?

Just email me or leave a comment here expressing your interest. Please include links to writing samples, which may include your blog or posts on other websites or forums. The samples don’t necessarily have to be about games, but previous game writing experience would be a plus.

Good luck!

No Ragnarok? ;_;

Just kidding. :D Hope the search goes well. I’ve pointed a few interested (and very much qualified) friends in this direction.

Thanks, Mia. Unfortunately, we have no requirements for RO (at least for now), except that we’re looking for RO currency sellers.

Eric, what games do you play? Do you have any samples of your writings online (like blogs, forum content, etc.)?

Dear Mr. J,

I really would like to be part of your blog, but I am no game writer. Yes, I am a writer and am currently a forum writer at http://www.500paday.com and for reference, you may see my articles at said site.

You may evaluate if I am acceptable us your writer. I could very well research for games. I play only games that are available at Internet Cafes.

Warm regards,

Gregorio Medrero

Greetings Sir Angelo.

I’m a writer but I don’t have published works online but I can send you my CV and a work sample. I also want to know how long the articles should be. Best to you.

How about Neverwinter Nights? NWN2 will be release in a couple of days. It would be good to cover the incoming new edition of this game.

@Greg, I’ve checked out your site. What games do you think you can play?

@Vic, thanks. Right now our requirements are for game review/walkthrough/cheat/article writers. If you do play MMORPGs already, then that would be great. Each article would be about 300 words long.

@Mark Anthony, we’ll check it out. We’re focusing on the more popular games right now, though. But if you think you can write about NWN2, then we might be able to set up a site for that. But the compensation would not be on par with the other, more popular MMOs.

Mr. J,

I will try to research and see and try to play the MMORPG games you want us to write about. By then, I could say if I will be able to make a good review.

Reverting in a short while,

Greg
