This was originally posted on the J Spotter, my blog for the personal, political, social stuff–basically anything not too tech-oriented.  The article got too techie that I thought it would be worth re-posting it here.

Congrats to the J Spotter for climbing up the Google PageRank ladder. According to this PR prediction tool by iwebtool.com, the site now has a rank of 4 out of the maximum 10.

Now for a personal site, 4 is already moderately high.

The J Spot has a PR of 5/10 (for about 6 months now) and it’s been getting first-page hits on Google from several popular keywords, like Cassandra Ponti (a Pinoy Big Brother Housemate) and Filipino Economist, which I consider quite cool.

I was chatting over GTalk with Yuga last night about SEO and AdSense revenue enhancement techniques (the white hat

ones, mind you) and I got a lot of useful insights on the subjects. It

does pay to market your website / weblog well, especially if you intend

to reach out to as many people as you want (and get something in

return, whether that be in ad revenues, subscriptions, or simply

mindshare–which I think is even more important).

Congrats to Pinoy.tech.blog also, for rising up to PR 5/10 after only two months of existence. PinoyBlog is on its way to PR 6/10, too!

For those interested in Search Engine Optimization, you can try signing up with the SEO-PHILIPPINES e-Group maintained by Marc,

my fellow Pinoy.tech.blogger. Everyone interested in the subject is

welcome (yes, some black-hat SEO techniques are discussed, but not

necessarily encouraged–not officially, at least).

Here’s to a great Google experience! Now I think I’d better work on

coming up with more quality articles more frequently. Oh, the pressure!
