This is a standard “I own this site” page. Unless you’re dabbling in content piracy on a massive scale (and commercially at that), there’s no reason to be fazed by the words below. They basically just mean, “please be a nice netizen and don’t plagiarize or misquote the hell out of authors who try to make an honest day’s living on the web.” Bloggers, after all, love being cited and linked to.
I use the terminology “site license” instead of “copyright,” because I believe in the free, fair use of information. “Copyright” generally means I own the information, and only I am free to build upon my work.
Hence, this site uses a Creative Commons license: Non-Commercial, Share-alike.
The license generally means:
You are free:
- to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work
- to make derivative works
Under the following conditions:
- By Attribution. You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor.
- Noncommercial. You may not use this work for commercial purposes.
- Share Alike. If you alter, transform, or build upon this work, you may distribute the resulting work only under a license identical to this one.
- For any reuse or distribution, you must make clear to others the license terms of this work.
- Any of these conditions can be waived if you get permission from the copyright holder.
This site is owned by J. Angelo Racoma.
And unless expressly stated otherwise:
- The views expressed here are personal opinions of the author or the cited articles’ respective sources.
- Links to external sites do not necessarily translate to an endorsement but are intended as supporting details, or to lead to information considered by the author to be interesting.
- All cited articles are owned by their respective authors, and subject to their own licensing or copyright statements.

1[...] But bloggers are a sensitive bunch, too, espeically when it comes to their content. I, for one, would usually react strongly if I see my content being quoted or even republished in full on other blogs or websites without adequate citation or permission, especially if these people are monetizing their sites using my content. Sure, my Creative Commons license allows for republishing and derivative works, but only for non-commercial purposes and with adequate citations. [...]
