J. Angelo RacomaJ. Angelo Racoma is an economist by profession and new media practitioner by occupation. He served the Philippine Government as a Senior Economic Development Specialist under the National Economic and Development Authority (specializing in public investment and private-sector participation) prior to moving to the private sector as an executive in the IT industry. Since then, he has ventured into new media consulting, which involves social and collaborative applications for the Internet.

Angelo is currently the Editor in Chief at Splashpress Media, a company that owns and manages several major new media properties and portals. He currently also offers consulting services to businesses and organizations regarding new media and policy/economics matters.

Angelo has been active in the online community prior to the commercial availability of the Internet in the Philippines, being involved with Bulletin Board Systems and BBS networks in the mid-1990’s. He then moved on to active participation in online tech forums, and now authoring his own technology-oriented weblog (or blog), the J Spot, which he started late 2003.

Angelo has provided technology- and industry-related content for online publications, having written for BlogMedia, Inc., Bloggy Network, prior to his current assignment with Splashpress Media.

He also contributes to various Philippine-oriented online publications including Pinoy.Tech.Blog, Pinoy Urban Blog, Sun.Star Blog Chronicles, Pinoy Teachers Network, and the Man Blog.

Angelo is married to educator Caren Marie Guevara, with whom he has three children.
