It’s coming sooner than expected. In a short while, I’ll be losing control over this particular blog–at least the extent of control I’m be comfortable with (design-wise and mostly pertaining to the technical matters). I had been spoiled by my WordPress installation over at jangelo.racoma.net and I’ve actually had gripes over the limitations i.PH had in terms of customizability. Of course, I’m not a web designer, and my knowledge of web coding and standards is still limited. But I do know what I want and I’d rather work on them in my own little way rather than get frustrated all the time with limitations and having to conform to a limited set of options.
So in a little while I might have to make a decision whether to stay on or push through with my planned move to my racoma.net host. It will definitely not be easy as I’ve toiled on many aspects of this i.PH site for over a year now, design, search engine optimization, usability and all.
At any rate, with the expected changes, I might as well lose all Google references for the next three months (permalink structures, etc.), so maybe now is the right time to choose. The J Spotter is, after all, getting quite popular with Google already. I’ve been building up that site, but maintained this one as my primary blog. I was planning to migrate when the planned changes got closer to becoming a reality. But it would probably make sense to do the migration now before all hell breaks loose.
I will most likely maintain the site for my archive purposes, but I expect no further development or updating to be done.
So au revoir for now. Expect me to pop up somewhere in the next few days (or maybe minutes) to come.
Of course I’ll still be at jangelo.racoma.net and my latest, forevergeek.com.
Gas prices too high? Go the extra mile with the green liter.
