Check out eRadioPortal, where you can listen to streaming audio from local stations (yes, even thru a dialup connection).

From what I’ve read and heard, podcasting is getting to be a big thing

in the west.  After all, it gives a voice to the masses.  No

longer would one need to have an expensive studio setup to be able to

“broadcast” his/her message.  All you need is decent recording

equipment (even a computer mic and sound recorder that supports a

compressed audio format will do) and a server with enough bandwidth to

sustain those large downlaods (good enough quality audio will translate

to about 500kb per minute, or about 15mb for a 15-minute ‘cast).

Of course, having an expensive setup helps with the quality, but hey,

you have to start somewhere.

Streaming audio has been around for quite some time, but doesn’t offer

the magic of on-demand listening.  And streaming audio will requre

greater bandwidth if you expect a good number of people simultaneously

listening in to your program.

Kudos to Bitstop for making Pinoy radio available on the ‘net.
