Max Limpag of Sun.Star Cebu has put up an article on blogging, “See it. Hear it. Blog it” where some of the country’s top bloggers were interviewed, including Yuga, Sassy Lawyer, MLQIII, and Ka Edong.

Some highlights:

  • Blogging is revolutionary in that anyone can run a web publication at the cost of a rented Internet connection;

  • The issue whether bloggers may be considered journalists is best

    viewed from the perspective of defining “journalist” by nature of the

    work and affiliation with the news industry;

  • Blogs have personal appeal;

  • Blogs distribute the conversation and does not limit control to a dominant media organization;

  • For traditional media, it’s “filter then publish,” but for blogs, it’s “publish then filter”;

  • The impact of blogs as a medium is still to increase.

Blog Herald also picks up the news:

Philippine bloggers are getting some decent coverage … [with local press] covering a number of significant achievements,

including the roles blogs and bloggers played in the recent scandal

surrounding Philippine President Gloria Arroyo.

The clincher: the article says Pinoy.tech.blog’s “contributors are among the top technology bloggers in the country.”  Wow!  Thanks for that interesting insight! )
