My RSS aggregator led me to this post by Sassy Lawyer (pinoy blogging goddess?), where she writes:
There’s this blogger going around and making himself visible in the
comment threads of many Pinoy blogs. Personally, I’d welcome anyone who
has a good discussion to contribute (nut cases are excluded,
naturally).
…
Advertising goes with any business. True. But to pretend to be “one of
us”… lending a colorable imitation of friendship… my, oh my, that
sounds desperate indeed.
Hmm … At first I wondered if the post was referring to me. Most
likely not. Though at times I’d prefer not to be associated as
such (”one of us”), I’ve been a blogger long before I got onboard the
company. And I blog according to my tastes, without influence by
anyone, even my employer. That’s the point.
The product is good, IMHO. And that’s why I’m using it. And that’s why I wanted to be involved in developing it.
My colleague, whom I consider to be one of our tech evangelists,
thought of jumpstarting the spreading of the word. I don’t see the
misleading or creation of false impressions here.
But, hey, accept the invite. Gobble up the food and drink up but
remember that you don’t have to sign up for the company’s services
unless you are absolutely convinced that it is the best option you’ve
got.
Isn’t that the point?
Starstruck? Let's go star tripping.
