Safari 3 beta is here. And it runs on Windows!

Safari has been my preferred browser of late. One of my only gripes is that it’s not like open source Firefox or Camino, which usually have updates every few weeks or so. Still, Safari seems to be a fast, solid, no-frills browser.
One thing I like about it is that its rendering engine seems to catch mis-coded XHTML quite nicely—meaning, it displays badly coded stuff badly! Another one is the clean RSS view I just access a site using feed:// (url here) and I get a no-frills content-only view of that blog or site (now some would argue against this, but I prefer this when I want to quickly check sites for updates).
Just recently, Apple announced that the public beta of Safari 3 is now available for download. And what do you know—it now runs on Windows!
It’s still on beta, though and I know there are a lot of bugs to be found (and fixed!). I even spot a few UI inconsistencies here and there (like saying OPTION-something as a shortcut, even though Windows keyboards don’t have an OPT key). But I’m pretty optimistic about it, though.
I’ve installed it on my Windows machine, and I can say Safari is pretty spiffy. It’s like software from a different world installed on a Windows-powered computer (much like how Windows users might initially find iTunes). I’ll be installing the beta on my Mac in a while. Hopefully that will resolve some small gripes I have with Safari 2.xx (like the inability to run Google Docs).
Currently Downloading: Chicago (Prison Break Season 2 Episode)
Tuesday

And you thought it was the Oscar-winning movie Chicago, didn’t you?
I’m currently downloading via Torrent Chicago, the latest Prison Break episode, which is the 16th episode of Season 2. Wikipedia has the recap here (major spoiler alert!). Here’s the episode summary from Wikipedia’s complete episode list:
Michael and Sara have an intimate moment on a train as they head to Chicago with Lincoln and Kellerman. Mahone gets help from Bellick to find the fugitives. T-Bag keeps up appearances. Another fugitive goes down.
I’ve always thought Bellick won’t just end up as a prisoner back in Fox River after being framed up for Geary’s murder. In season 1, he was Scofield’s arch-nemesis. Bellick always seemed to figure something’s afoot with Scofield and company. Of course, in season 2, Scofield had an even more formidable nemesis in the person of Agent Mahone. But with Mahone and Bellick working together, things will get more interesting.
Download will be finished in about 5 hours. I can’t wait!
Smallville Season 6, Episode 5: Reunion
Wednesday
Nov 1, 2006

This week, we take a trip down memory lane, and we visit Lex Luthor’s past, and here we see the reason behind the enmity between Lex and Oliver Queen.
Smallville Season 6 Episode 4: Arrow
Sunday
Oct 22, 2006
I just finished watching Episode 4 of Smallville Season 6. Arrow is, IMHO, one of the more exciting Smallville episodes because it doesn’t deal with a meteor FOTW (freak of the week), and because it tries to explore the beginnings of what would be the future Justice League (sneak peeks were also shown when Aquaman and the Flash guested in earlier seasons).
This time, the guest hero is Oliver Queen, a.k.a. the Green Arrow. Oliver Queen’s character will be around for quite some time in this season as I’m looking forward to more action. Guys will love Ollie’s gadgets and vehicles, while girls will, well, probably love Justin Hartley.
Smallville Season 6, Episode 3: Wither
Saturday
Oct 14, 2006
In this episode, we get to see Clark’s first encounter with a Phantom Zone escapee (aside from Zod, that is). Yes, all 5 milliseconds of it. If you’re dying to see Chloe and Jimmy make out (finally, no more wishy-washy-over-Clark moments), the tension between Clark, Chloe and Jimmy (love triangle?) or Justin Hartley’s abs, then do watch this episode.
