The Big Move

Feb 4, 2005

Effective this month, I will be experiencing a big move in two aspects of my life. First, I will be moving from government service to the private sector. Second, I will be moving my weblog from blogger to i.ph.

I shall discuss my career move later on. In the meantime, allow me to expound on my reasons behind this move to i.ph, and as well my planned steps henceforth.

While I have found blogger to be a very interesting service, being one of the major blogging solutions (among a multitude of others), I have decided to shift to a site where I could have a more prominent online presence, in particular with the jangelo.i.ph domain. Upon initially testing the service, I have found it to be better than other blogging solutions in a lot of ways, aside from the reasonably-priced i.ph domain, in terms of expansion possibilities (for the techie in me) and as well the ease of use (for the part of me that strives to focus more on better content rather than form). And more importantly, I decided to move to i.ph because I am able to contribute to the development of the service first-hand.

So here I am, making my first “real” posting at i.ph. I signed up last November, but after some tweaking and a number of “test” posts, The J Spot on i.ph is officially launched!

I decided to no longer import my numerous posts on my blogger account (even though i.ph supports this feature). I want to make a fresh start, and with it fresh perspectives, perhaps. I will maintain J Spot on blogspot as it is, for sentimental reasons.

So I welcome the new year with quite a number of new things. Hopefully, 2005 will be a prosperous and productive year for me. 2003 was a turning point. 2004 was a challenge. 2005 is a year of new beginnings Here’s to a good year!
