I’ve been receiving tons of inquiries on my post on the old J Spot (at i.ph), Get Paid for Writing. While I initially tried to respond to all inquiries, I don’t think I’ll be able to respond to everyone in a timely manner, especially many of them I refer to my contacts looking for freelance writers or bloggers who are willing to write for compensation.
Hence, I’m moving the thread here, but with one major modification. I’m hoping this post—particularly its comment thread—can serve as a clearinghouse of sorts where aspiring pro-bloggers can post links to their blogs, portfolios, and other sample works, and blog network owners can check out prospective writers for their qualifications. This way, I won’t have to deal with the inefficiency of asking everyone to email this person or that company or this network and so forth.
Perhaps it’s still a crude way of doing it, but I’m hoping it would be a good start.
You may also wish to refer to online ads for blogging and blog-related work over at these sites (I’ll update the list as we go).
Some useful information should you include:
Hey, be sure to check your writing for correct grammar and appropriate style. After all, you’re going after writing jobs and it pays to dot your j’s and cross your t’s, so to speak. If you want to be able to edit your comments later on, be sure to sign up for a subscriber account first via the registration form. You can always login using this form if you already have an account.
I hope this post will be useful. Wanna get started with pro-blogging? Do leave your note at the comment thread.
Here’s a tip: if you want your name to be linked to your blog or website URL, do edit your profile here and key in your address at the URL field.
Update: Check out my post on problogging options here .

2Thanks for the comment, Iloilo City Boy. May we have your site URL? Other details would be helpful, too, such as links to your posts of note. If you’d like your blog URL to be linked to your name on the comment threads, do edit your profile here:

3JAngelo, a question—what kind of writing should I link to, if ever I post my contact details and links to writing? I haven’t written any blog-type posts/articles recently (i.e., writing for the general public as opposed to writing for friends), though I’ve been doing a bit of academic analysis offline.
[I should really write you an email soon. My apologies—life has been crazy lately. Moreso than normal, anyway.]

4Hi J, saw the PayPal4PH article in INQ and i thought that it’s a good idea. I’m also interested in this pro-blog bid. am an infrequent blogger though but i do a lot of writing in my off-time from work. my questions for you would be the same as Mia’s:
“what kind of writing should I link to, if ever I post my contact details and links to writing? I haven’t written any blog-type posts/articles recently (i.e., writing for the general public as opposed to writing for friends), though I’ve been doing a bit of academic analysis offline.”
and do i need to have my own website???
I would appreciate a response when you’re able. Thanks!

5Hi. I have alot of free time especially at night. How do I go about this Get Paid to Blog thing? I have my personal blog and one which is mostly for digital photos and articles where I was featured in. Do you think you can help me regarding this matter?

7Hi J!
You had a seminar on problogging a few months back, right? Would there be some more any time soon? Or anything that would specifically cater to beginners? Please keep us posted. Thanks!

8@Mia, well, any writing of substance would do—something that would showcase your writing style and voice.
@Dianne, thanks for visiting and for agreeing with our stand about PayPal. It’s not necessary for you to have your own site, but that would help.
(I’m about to respond to the other comments too, but dinner awaits!

9@Bettina, hello. Please refer to my latest post on options for pro-blogging.
@Shirazi, thanks for the comment. I’m glad I’m able to help people with my writing.
@G, yes, that was at the Phlippine blogging summit. I’m not sure if they’ll have a mini-iBlog soon, but they might be planning another summit next year (they usually hold it in May). If you have friends who are interested in a pro-blogging talk, maybe we can set one up for your group.

My e-mail is jhay [at] jrocas [dot] com [dot] ph
I blog at Pinoy Explorer
Here’s a post I’ve written that I think is among my best and unique since it’s not based on a health, tech or science news I found in the web.
Remeber that we are in the tropics
My preferred set-up of payment would be a combination of pay-per-post and revenue sharing.
Now I cross my fingers for a few moments then go back to improving my writing even more.

11i’ve been more or less on a lookout for something like this, i just didn’t know where to start (thanks for the road signs anyway). i’ve started posting a few entries at wordpress and have posted sporadically at my blogspot page. i don’t know if they’re any good but i’m willing to give it a try.
any comment (things to avoid, etc.) from you would be greatly appreciated… by the way, i hope your paypal campaign pays off. thanks again.

12Thanks for this post. It’s helpful to people like me who find ourselves with time to burn, especially in the wee hours of night. I usually blog here: http://raisingalex.blogs.friendster.com.
