What’s the deal with the ZTE Broadband issue that the Philippine media is abuzz with, anyway? I have my very own ZTE Broadband thing:

ZTE DSL Modem

And it’s sitting right on my desk – my ZTE DSL modem. It’s ZTE, and it’s for broadband, isn’t it?

Update

I’ve posted an update here, in case you’d like to read more about the ZTE NBN Project.

i just wanted to make this comment as a calling to those government leaders of ours who seem to lock themselves in the four corners of the senate room (or whatever you call that room)..sir,ma’am i just wanna make this clear, it seems that you have forgotten your individual responsibilities because of that zte issue well in fact it the project was not pursued..i think it’s about time you focus to the basic problems of the country where masses, especially us, who are living below the poverty line, are being much affected. during the discussion of my One major subject, it is really a fact that people in the legislative body as well as the other branches of “our government”(I bet its not our government anymore becoz its their government na, government of political elites who are making fool out of us poor people) have no longer time in addressing problems in the society, they indeed do not have the needed expertise in addressing those problems, but what is very sad is that, they dont have any interest with those problems because those problems(basic problems of the masses) do not involve a lot of money. look at that zte?..they are very much affected as if its the only problem in the philippines(political leaders).

el filibu ZTE rismo

come to think of it, the novel of jose rizal regarding el filibusterismo is somewhat relevant to this issue, in the first place there are two proposals for the said ZTE NBN deal, that of the allies of Ben Abalos or the GREEDY FOUR as they say backed up by FG Mike Arroyo, and the other one was the proposal made by Baby Boy De Venecia, each proposal is unique in their own way, like the upper deack and lower deack in Bapor Tabo, upper deack holds the elites of the soiciety back then while the lower deck caters to the masses…

In relation, GREEDY FOURS proposal would give fortune for the men behind it sacrificing the welfare of the masses, while Baby Boy De Venecia proposal will benefit the elite and middle class of the society and promises good opportunities for the masses… (thats what they say)

Any way, HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF, but its up to us, the present to see this things before it could actually happen and repeat the dreaded cycle of events… Hopefully we could have the eye for what is right or wrong and do some actions about it even in our own little ways….

ZTE

4. ngayon alam mo na na pag teacher ka, mag turo ka; duktor ka, mang gamot ka; abogado ka, legal case atupagin mo; kun estudyante ka, mag aral ka. kung sa COMELEC ka; ayusin mo yung election ng bansa natin;

A_ a l s ? ).
