Top Ten Web Design Mistakes of 2005 from Jakob Nielsen’s Alertbox:
- Legibility problems
- Non-standard links
- Flash
- Content not written for the web
- Bad search
- Browser incompatibility
- Cumbersome forms
- Lack of contact information
- Frozen layouts / fixed page widths
- Inadequate photo enlargement
Okay. I guess I’m guilty of perpetrating a couple of these
mistakes (particularly the links and the fixed-width layout). But
I do try to make my readers’ web experience as comfortable and as
quick as possible without sacrificing content and presentation
quality (my kudos to i.PH for that).
But of course, I leave that to you to judge. Drop me a line if you think something’s amiss.
