Friday
Apr 1, 2005
According to projectseven.com,
a source disclosed that the standards-setting body World Wide Web
Consortium (W3C) plans to remove the span and div tags from XHTML 2.0
specifiaction.
The move intends to “give us everything we need to make any kind of
layout we can imagine.” The message at the projectseven site
further states:
We’re providing this page, free and clear, as a template you can use
during the transition. It contains neither DIVs, SPANs, nor Tables. The
markup is pure as can be. Note this day, 1-April-2005, as the dawning
of a new and semantically pure era.
A dawn of a new and pure era? Hmm …
NOTE THIS DAY, INDEED!
1-April-2005.
