i.PH is adding more internet-to-SMS gateways! We’ve had Chikka
from the start (for the local GSM market) and recently added a handful
of other gateways. We’re currently expanding the system to
support more.
We’d like to ask people with mobile phones to help us test SMS
gateways. We’re geographically bound to the dotPH campus (which I
fondly call dotPH-plex … OK, no more allusions to the MS Redmond campus or the Googleplex) here in Manila, but we’d like to make sure things work well with GSM accounts in other countries.
Contact me if you’d like to participate (via Gmail). In exchange, I’ll set you up with a free upgraded and extended i.PH
account. At this point, we can only accommodate those outside of
the Philippines (as the Chikka gateway is already working–albeit with
some latency at times).
