I’m posting this article remotely. By “remote”

I do not mean wirelessly, nor offshore, nor out of town. I would

consider “remote” as out of the confines of my usual setting when I

make blog posts, which would be either at my office workstation or at

home.

I’m currently using my very old Acer

notebook to post this article, hoping that somehow the text gets

through. I usually leave this classic (a pentium 120, with duct tape

supporting the LCD monitor from falling, and non-working keyboard and

touchpad–I have to plug in external peripherals!) at my in-laws’

residence for our use whenver we find the need to stay over for a

night. I just finished installing Mozilla Firefox, since I can’t stand browsing using IE–too much for my sanity!.  Reading through my subscribed RSS feeds at Bloglines,

I notice that bloggers seem to post less in the weekends, in particular

those who maintain blogs I consider to be relatively more “personal”

(as opposed to high-profile blogs published by industry professionals,

such as Microsoft’s Robert Scoble, former TechTV host and now independent industry commentator Leo Laporte, and of course full-time professional blogger Jason Kottke).

This makes me wonder if people do generally tend to post more actively

at work (i.e. during weekdays) or if their weekend lives are not as

exciting.

Personally, I am grateful for weekends, being the time

I can focus my full attention on my family. A hectic professional life

rarely leaves one adequate time in the weekdays to spend with one’s

loved ones.

Perhaps bloggers prefer to post during weekdays for this very same reason.

It’s half-past-midnight. Monday brings in another hectic workweek. Welcome to the real world.

Starstruck? Let's go star tripping.
