PhP 50,000 to 55,000. That’s how much the tech support /
parts sales personnel informally quoted me over the phone for a new
system board.
I said for that amount I could get myself a brand new notebook (and the person on the other line agreed).
But then again I wasn’t so surprised. Brand new laptop parts are
so expensive if bought direct from the dealer, so unless your machine
is under warranty, forget about it. Either have it fixed
elsewhere or get yourself a brand new unit.
I checked online, the same part sells for about US$ 80 on eBay. I know where to get my parts in case I ever do indeed need them.
Of course this is worst-case scenario: if it’s indeed the mainboard that’s the problem. And I’m hopeful it’s not.
