A couple of tech journalist contacts of mine have moved to WordPress.com from their previous Blogger-hosted blogs. Well, it’s either they’re just trying it out, or are using WordPress.com as an alternate blog host (such as myself), but for others, it looks more like a definite move in both cases.

So who just found new homes at wordpress.com:

Actually, WordPress.com is great. I’d think it’s a better alternative to Blogger for beginning bloggers and for those who’d rather not have the headache of maintaining their own sites. But I still find the limitations stifling, for instance the fact that one can’t install plugins, customize themes (apart from the built-in customization functions by the theme itself), or add AdSense ads (unless WordPress.com installs a widget for this).

Still, it’s great to be able to play around with a WP installation. Unlike Blogger, it’s easier to manage, as one doesn’t need to know how to code (or cut and past code). And this also leads to less likelihood of screwing up one’s blog.
