Sky DSL / Bayantel DSL now Bayan DSL. Speeds Have Increased!

Just got word from Bayantel DSL customer service that they have increased speeds across the board. New plan speeds are as follows:

* Plan 899 (PhP 899 per month) – from 384 Kbps now 768 Kbps, burstable to 1280 Kbps during off-peak hours
* Plan 1699 (PhP 1,699 per month) – from 768 Kbps now 1280 Kbps, burstable to 1536 Kbps during off-peak hours
* Plan 1999 (PhP 1,999 per month; new plan!) – 2048 Kbps
* Plan 2560 (PhP 2,560 per month) – from 1536 Kbps now 2560 Kbps

Apparently new subscribers as of Nov 1st of this year are getting these packages already. Existing subscribers have to request for an upgrade, which I find very inconvenient and unfair (because we don’t get it automatically). Still, this is a good move on Bayantel’s part, especially considering that their competitors are also increasing speeds.

  1. hay naku,,,,gagong bayantel yan….tanga tanga pa ung mga tech support nila….sab ung plan 2mbps wala daw SOD un…ponyeta nung try ko meron pala..letche…hinala ko dyan…inuutakan nila ung customers nila…pano ko nasab…kada tumatawag ako sa kanila..kac bagal ng downloads ko…sab burstable daw kac un…so meaning kahit i upgrade ko ng 3mbps..wala din..kac sasabihin sau…burstable speed d mo makukuha ung exact speed na 2mbps..labo talaga..sa quezon city ako…hays…sabi ko nga ilipat nlang nila ung linya ng telepono nmin sa masmalapit na poste sa amin…sab nung tech wala daw kinalaman un..bobo. talaga..eh telephone line nga ung kailangan na isa sa mga requirements para magkainternet ka d nman cla SKY DSL na no need na ng telephone wire..direct cla from coaxial cable…hays…eh pano kung distorted or grounded ung telephone wirings sa labas ng bahay nyo..d ba nila aayusin un..tapos nagbabayad tau ng mahal?..gets nyo..sa magtrtry mag bayantel…pagisipan muna lalo na ung mga labas ng quezon city kac…ung mga equipment nila palpak…hays naku…nakakaasar..pinagmumukang tanga ung mga customers…

  2. bakit ganun sakin plan 1299 ung bayantel ko pero sobrang bagal ng net, palagi ako tumatawag pero wala naman nangyayari. nasa qc naman ako, ang lakas ng delay sa online game na nilalaro ko, sana paki ayos.

Hmm… Well, ive been with Bayan for 1 Year na and speed is very very good maybe because their box is just 1 block away from my house… Only issue ko na naresolve naman was dropouts every hour pero as ive said, nafix naman agad. All in all, if i am to rate bayan from 1 to 5 and 5 being the highest, i’ll give it a 4…

  5. This is to inform Bayantel that the 300 increase you implemented this month is unfair! I beg to disagree with the increase.

    I had my line with bayantel just last June 2012 when I started my business. Up to now, I am having a struggle with the business, I hope the company understands that the increase is not reasonable and really unfair.

    The action of getting increase payment is a form of breaching the contract, meaning, it is unlawful!
