George Bernard Shaw said He who can, does; he who cannot, teaches. I say this is B.S. One cannot teach effectively if he doesn’t know what he is talking about. Hence, experience is the best teacher. Second best are the people who have been there, done that and who now live to tell the tale—meaning those who actually have firsthand experience of what they’re talking about.
I’ve been blogging for about four years now, the latter part of which as an editor of a major blogging news site, and as a manager of a network of blogs and blog services. Experience is, indeed, a great teacher, and I want to share and pass on what I have learned through these years.
Blogging has evolved from being virtual diaries and soapboxes to effective word-of-mouth marketing tools. Companies and businesses are now embracing the viral power of blogs in facilitating dialogue and enhancing the trust factor. Organizations are discovering the benefits of blogs and other new media in collaborative work.
However, blogging is not just about writing. Blogging has a lot of facets, and sometimes you may not be able to have an adequate grasp of all of these. There is a lot of effort involved, including writing, designing, optimizing, and marketing. For businesses, that even includes choosing who the best person to blog would be. Sometimes, trial-and-error can be costly, especially if it takes a very long time before you can get it right.
Let me help you make blogging work for your business. If you have no idea what a blog is, I can show you how blogging will help you. I can help you get started with the right tools and methodologies. If your business is already into blogging, then I can perhaps assist you in optimizing your corporate or business blog.
I’ve been a part of blogging seminars and workshops long enough to realize that there are a lot of people curious about blogging, but don’t know where to start. Then there are those who are already experienced bloggers, but still open to learning new ideas and how to blog better.
If your group or organization is interested in running workshops/seminars on blogging and new media, please contact me for rates and scheduling.
